The International Scientific Conference "Equality in an Ever-Integrating Europe: The View of Young Researchers" was a resounding success!
On October 18, 2024, young researchers from across Central Europe came together to explore pressing issues of equality and European integration. This conference was a key dissemination event for Dr. Bartłomiej Oręziak, held within the research group "Equality in an Ever-Integrating Europe" led by Professor Marcin Wielec, and organized as part of the Central European Professors' Network Project, coordinated by the Central European Academy.
The event featured a distinguished lineup of experts and young scholars from top Central European universities, presenting their research on a wide array of timely topics. From discussions on sovereignty in international law, climate change and crime, and victims' rights to in-depth analysis of niche subjects like AI in the patent system and juvenile justice in countries such as Croatia and Hungary, the conference offered an engaging and comprehensive look at equality in the EU.
Standout presentations on themes such as EU institutional balance, gender equality, and the European Certificate on Parenthood reflected the interdisciplinary approach of the research. This gathering was not just a platform for academic discourse, but a vital contribution to the ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing equality standards across Europe, both in EU law and in the practices of member states.
The success of this event highlights the crucial role of collaboration within the Central European Professors' Network, advancing research and fostering dialogue on critical issues shaping the future of European integration and equality.
